The croft
Four buildings and a boat house
-

01
The steading — three cottages under one long roof
-

02
The byre — drying room, washing machine, the bath
-

03
Boat house — oars, aids, a bucket for bailing
On the water
The boat is shared and works on a chalkboard in the boat house: write your name and the hours. Brown trout at the shallow end, best at dusk in June. Permits for the estate water are £8 a day and we hold the book.
On foot
Eleven miles of shore path, level for the first four. The hill path leaves the gate and reaches 812 m in about three hours; the last section is loose. Deer stalking August to October — we post the days on the gate.
Which one would suit you?
Five cottages, and the differences between them matter more than the photographs let on.
